With over 30 years experience, our members have lived through it all.
Starting from humble beginnings with a group of coppers who wanted to meet up to play some footy, we now boast running a major National Championship with over 400 participants.
The Australian Police Football Association (APFA) Incorporated is a proud group of Police Officers and support staff who annually meet to participate in the National Police Football Championship (NPFC). This annual event is usually held in the first week of October in a different host State each year and comprises eighteen (18) games over three (3) competition days, with a day break between each game. Each team will play three games and the Championship is decided by the team with the highest win/loss or percentage.
Playing in memorium
We honour their sacrifice.
Memorial speeches and moments of silence are observed during the Championship in memory of all police officers who have been killed. Policing is a difficult and fearful job and only those made ‘of the right stuff’ need apply. The ‘brand’ of footy played during the Championship is reflective of the attitude and courage of the police that play in them.
